The journey in this life for Ralph Edgar Butler, began on July 17, 1965 in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas. Simply known as Eddie he was the only child born to the family of Edgar and Laura Jean Butler. They made their home in West Helena where Eddie attended times of worship at the First Baptist Church.

Throughout his childhood, Eddie lived with his mother in several different places, including Arizona, Texas and Mississppi. While in Mississippi Eddie was privileged to receive education at the Sharkey Issaqueena Academy. Eddie eventually returned to his hometown and began to enjoy things familiar to his childhood and perhaps renewed old friendships.

In search of employment, Eddie was blessed to secure a position with the City of Helena. For the past 23 years he served in general maintenance. He was passionate about his work and known by many as the faithful, dedicated employee, who never missed a day.

He enjoyed spending his leisure time cooking and liked preparing his favorite Mexican dishes. Whether alone or with others, Eddie with a bit of musical skill, loved to spend time playing his keyboard or bass guitar and listening to his favorite rock and roll band Kiss.

On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, Eddie passed away at the Helena Regional Medical Center at the age of 55. He was preceded in death by his parents; Edgar and Laura (Griffin) Butler.

Survivors; brothers, Leonard Hartsfield , Phillip Butler, Kevin Butler ; sisters, Margie Strunk, Sally Butler Apple, Lisa Butler; niece, Holly Hartsfield Dunigan; nephew, Brad Hartsfield and a host of extended family and friends.
