Born October 21, 1938 in Conway, SC she was the daughter of the late Austin Dorman and the late Clyde Thompkins Dorman. She was a graduate of Conway High School and attended Horry Georgetown Technical College. Mrs. Johnson was a member and former secretary of Good Hope Baptist Church and also worked with the church youth group for many years.
In addition to her husband she was also predeceased by her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony "A. J." and Lisa Johnson; her siblings, Delma Dorman, Jane Dorman, John Henry Dorman, Lutie Dawsey, Hoover Dorman, Alfred Dorman, Roy Dorman, and Coy Dorman.
Survivors include her son, Terry Dean Johnson and wife Monica of Galivants Ferry; her grandchildren, Stephina "Stevie" Johnson and David Edward Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Mason Dizick and Ethan Martin; and her sisters, Annie Ruth Lewis of Conway and Jeanette Leaphart of Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Good Hope Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. John Sullivan. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM Friday, September 4, 2020.
In accordance with CDC regulations, face coverings and social distancing will be required at the services.
