She leaves as her legacy, her beloved son, Dale (Diana) Drake. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her daughter-in-law Margaret A. Drake. Proud grandmother of Matthew (Margaret I.), Jennifer, and Amanda (Justin) Hayes. She was the dear "GG" to Xander, Marcus, and Connor Drake, and Ella, and Zoe Hayes. She was beloved mama to her late fur babies; Abigail and Zachary. She was also loved and deeply missed by other relatives and friends.
Betty was an Executive secretary and assistant to the president of DePaul Rehabilitation Hospital from 1967 to 1989. She loved to watch sports, especially baseball and the Packers. She could talk politics and express her thoughts on just about anything happening in the world, past and present. She had a great sense of humor. In 1989 she moved from the city to the country, where she lived with her son, Darryl and his family. She enjoyed country living, her pets, and watching her grandchildren grow, mature, marry, buy their first homes, and welcome the next generation of children into the family.
A special thank you to all the wonderful and caring aides, nurses, and the entire staff at Hales Corners Care Center where Betty resided for the past 2 years. I know that she valued your friendship as much as you enjoyed her delightful personality. She will be greatly missed.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Faith Community with an entombment at Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Jude Hospital for Children would be greatly appreciated.
