WALNUT COVE, NC ~ John Powell Heath, Jr., 73, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday morning, August 22, 2020, at Walnut Cove Health and Rehab Center.
Johnny was born on March 2, 1947, in Forsyth County to the late John Powell, Sr., and Grace Estell Ellyson Heath.
He was a member of Isom Baptist Church and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 43 years of service.
In his spare time, he collected old cars and John Deere items and loved playing golf, fishing, and was an avid bowler.
Johnny loved going to the races at Bowman Gray.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by a brother, R.C. Heath, and 2 sisters: Doris Creech and Margaret Crews.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Pauline Wright Heath of the home; 2 sons: Chris Heath (Rebecca) and Greg Smith; and 5 grandchildren: Ashlyn, Jacob, Madison, Clarissa, and Matthew.
There will be an 11:00 AM graveside service held on Monday, August 24, 2020, at Isom Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Marion officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
Social distancing guidelines will be observed, and facial coverings are encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Isom Baptist Church, 2651 Tuttle Road, Walnut Cove NC, 27052.
