Myra Laura Washington Rogers, 76, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Monday, June 4, 2018. She was born January 30, 1942 to the late Paul Washington, Sr. and Amanda Washington. She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur, Texas and a 1959 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. Myra attended nursing school where she became an LVN and continued her nursing career for forty years. She owned Myra Kiddie University for eighteen years.

Myra is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Paul Washington, Jr. and her grandson Donovan Chavis.

She is survived by four children Darrell, Shelia, Ronald and Edwanda; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters Annette, Madeline and Gloria; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Christ Temple New Life Ministries, 1000 Woodworth Blvd., Port Arthur, TX with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
