Sherry Faye Baker Howe, 66, of Denison, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 7, 2014. Sherry was born March 18, 1948 in Denison, Texas, to Leonard B. Baker Sr. and Gloria Faye Gable Baker. Sherry attended schools in Denison, Texas.
She married Carl Edward Howe on January 1, 1967. She attended First Assembly of God for many years in Denison. She later became a member of Covenant Church for eight years in Sherman, Texas. She loved going to church and listening to gospel music. Sherry is now in the arms of our loving Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Leonard B. Baker Sr., her mother, Gloria Faye Baker, both of Denison, Texas; brother, Ronald Dean Baker of Sherman, Texas; sister, Barbara Baker Kuykendall of Waskom, Texas; sister, Shirley Bruce of Denison, Texas; son, James David Howe of Baton Rouge, La.; two nephews, Rusty Doty of Denison, Texas, Eric Baker of Sherman, Texas and one niece, Shannon Leigh-Anne Kirby of Austin, Texas.
Surviving Sherry are; her husband of 48 years, Carl Edward Howe Sr., of Denison; two sons, Carl Edward Howe Jr. (Eddie) and wife Anna of Denison, John William Howe of Gatesville, Texas; daughter, Dorcas Faye Barnes and husband Edward of Durant, Ok.; one grandson and three granddaughters; two sisters, Linda Baker Harbison and husband, Jerre, Beverly Baker Doty; one brother, Leonard B. Baker Jr. (Sonny), all of Denison, Texas; sister-in-law, Gail Baker of Sherman, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
Sherry was employed by Denison Public Schools, Homestead Nursing Home and Luby's Cafeteria before she retired.
Sherry was family oriented and was a very loving, compassionate person as shown in her enjoyment of working and caring for the elderly as well as young children. She also spent many years loving and caring (rescuing) mistreated and /or neglected animals. She had an unusual capacity for people and /or animals in need.
A bright light has now gone dim here but shines brighter in God's eternal Kingdom. Our loss in Heaven's gain.
Services are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, 604 West Main, Denison, Texas.
Funeral Svcs.-Private Memorial held on 11/07/14 8PM to 1 AM
Family night will Thursday, 11/13/14 6PM to 8 PM at Fisher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas
