The many friends of Officer Dave Wise will regret to learn of the death of his wife, which occurred night before last. She was well when Mr. Wise went on his beat, and about twelve o'clock she expired. She leaves four children to morn their loss. Coroner Winston held an inquest yesterday and returned a verdict of death from apoplexy.

It appears a 4th child, John was born in 1885. Evergreen records conflict saying she was buried December 22, 1887 and separate record saying burial was February 22, 1888
