Obituary (published in the Missoulian 5/11/2017)
MISSOULA — Chester L. Albert passed away at his home after a long battle with cancer. Chet was born on Jan. 10, 1929 in Watford City, North Dakota, however he lived his early years in Brockton and Kalispell where he enlisted in the Air Force serving until August of 1947.

While visiting relatives in Watford City, North Dakota, Chet met Auverne Hagen. They started their romance and married on July 9, 1948. They moved to Kalispell where their son Gale was born. A couple years later, they moved to Tuscor where Chet worked on the Noxon Reservoir. .

From Tuscor, they moved to Missoula, It was about this time that he started his logging career and a few years later in 1964, Chet bought a brand new Autocar logging truck. He continued to log for most of the rest of his life, owning his own company. While always having a passion for the work he did, Chet decided to take an early retirement at the age of 70. However, even after retiring he still couldn't get away from the work he loved, and often could be found operating equipment for local forest fires, such as the 2007 Black Cat fire in Evaro.

He will long be remembered for being tough ... but honest in his work and loving all of his family.

He was always the first to lend a helping hand and the last to leave the jobsite and we will remember him always as the best example of a good man.

Preceding Chet in death were his parents; Verna and Harold Albert, Step-father, Stanton Wolfe, brother, Richard and sister, Fern and son in law, Dan Breslin.

Chet is survived by his wife, Auverne, brother, Darrel (Sheila) Albert, son, Gale (Judy) Albert, daughters; Jolene Winchell, Susan (Dale) Truett, grandchildren; Mark (Carla) Albert, April (John) Larocque, Charlie Winchell, Sarah Winchell, Spencer Truett, Kelly Truett, Tanner Truett, and great grandchildren; Ashley (Gage) Brumwell, Kaurie Albert, Easton Albert, Jaylee Albert and Kyler and Kaden Larocque, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
