The winter of 1915 in Brigham City, Utah brought unusual amounts of snow, an influenza outbreak, and in the wee morning hour on January 29 Ivan. Son of Orville and Cleopha Jensen. Brother of Metilda Camille Larsen and Carolyn M. Champion. Greatest of "The Great" generation. Had a never-ending love for his family and strong testimony of his Savior. Graduated from Box Elder High School. Attended Utah State University and Weber College (Weber State University). Faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. Served an Eastern Canadian LDS mission. Met a sister missionary who later because his eternal companion. Married Marguerite Christensen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1941. Together had six children: Karen (Rex) Alldredge, Roberta (Paul) Barstad, Kathleen (LaVere) Terry, Ivan Orville Jensen, Mary Ann (Dennis) Golightly, and James (Mardi) Jensen. 22 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

Enjoyed collecting books, clocks, hunting, fishing and writing poetry. Frugal and could fix just about anything. Was a hard worker. Trademark was drawing mice. Built many custom homes in the Bountiful area with his own stamp of quality.
