Calvin Butler was born on September 14, 1934 to the late Harold Butler Sr. and Alieen Buter in Georgetown Kentucky.
Calvin is proceeded in death by his son Dwight Butler, his brothers Harold Butler Jr and Bennie Butler. Left to cherish is his wife Marlene Butler, his daughters Denise Anderson and Seneca Garrett, his sister Marlene "Marty" Butler and his grandchildren Brooke Goldman Moore, Rhoda Shelton, Marcus Anderson, Mark Travis, Jordan Travis, and Dwight Butler Mills, a host of great grandchildren, and many close friends.
Calvin attended Our Savior Catholic School in Covington Kentucky after leaving high school Calvin was employed by Sears and Robuck and became the first African American Sales Associate at the Sears in Covington.
After his long successful career at Sears, he became the first African American sales person for Phillips Janitorial Supplies. Calvin then embarked on his own business with "Butler's Personal Touch" in which he and his wife Marlene ran a successful family business for 50 years. Calvin was known for his hard work ethic, attention to detail, and always very reliable.
In his spare time, Calvin was an avid sports enthusiast, who enjoyed watching basketball and baseball games. He also enjoyed cars, lawn maintenance and gardening and was known to be very stylish and fashionable. Calvin was dedicated to his family above all.
