Karen B Mejia
MARCH 3, 1958 – AUGUST 23, 2020

Karen Butler Mejia was called to join her husband on August 23, 2020 after fighting a hard battle against lung cancer. She was 62 years old when she passed away. Karen was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and traveled all over the world throughout her childhood with her family. Her father, Robert Butler Sr., served in the Airforce as a pilot, and her mother, Jean Butler, was a nurse.

After losing her husband of 24 years, Karen took on the role of mother and father raising her three daughters. Despite these struggles, she always provided a loving and warm home for her kids. In her free time, Karen enjoyed a glass of wine and playing Pokeno with friends. Her love for turtles, growing succulents, and watching Animal Planet will never be forgotten.

Karen leaves behind her oldest daughter Summer and her three kids Owen, Sawyer, and Turner, middle daughter Brandi & son-in-law Bradley, youngest daughter Kindel and son-in-law Garrett, and one little pug named Libby. She is survived by her brothers Robert Butler & wife Karla, Keith Butler & wife Marileide, sister-in-law Gayla Kelley, brother-in-law Lance & his wife Anne, and many nieces and nephews.

Karen will be laid to rest at Forest Park Cemetery and Funeral Home on Monday, August 31, 2020 next to her husband, Brent Mejia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am with a graveside service to follow.
