Mrs. Craig was born in Vienna, April 17, 1861, and was a daughter of Edwin and Chloe Raymond Pierce. She was a descendant of old pioneer stock, her ancestors coming to this section from Harwinton. Conn., in about 1800. In her childhood Mrs. Craig came with her parents to Camden, where nearly all of her life was spent. The family at first made their home on a farm on Preston Hill.
She was married to Mr. Craig 34 years ago the 14th of last March. Three children were born to them, of whom only one daughter, Jean, wife of Dr. George M. Budlong of Batavia. survives. One daughter, Reba, a beautiful young girl, died four years ago last March, while the family was living in Rome, where Mr. Craig was bookkeeper at the Oneida County Home. Beside her husband and daughter, Mrs. Craig leaves a granddaughter Jean Budlong, four years old.
She was of charming personality and genial disposition, which won many friends. For 14 years she was an esteemed member of the Presbyterian Church, and she was also a valued member of the Camden Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. In all these circles, and especially in the home, she will be greatly missed.
The funeral services will be held at the late home at 3 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon. The O. E. S. will attend in a body and will hold special service.
