Richard attended Lindberg High School and Central Valley High School. He served in the Army during the occupation of Germany.
Richard was a lifelong farmer in Valleyford, WA. He and the love of his life, Dorothee, were married on November 12, 1960 and enjoyed over 50 years together. He enjoyed square dancing, tinkering with equipment and cars, and wintering in Arizona. He was a member of Lilac City Sam's R.V. Club, and Star Shooter Dance Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothee.
Richard is survived by his brother, Raymond Allen; son, Jerry (Terrie); daughter, Penny (John); son, James (Karen); four grandchildren, Jason (Rachel), Justin, Hailey and Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on July 22, 2017 at 1pm. The family asks that you make a contribution in Richard's name to your favorite charity.
