Greta was born on February 19, 1938 in Clinton, Illinois the daughter of Joseph C. Wunderlich Sr. and Leona Webb. She graduated Galesburg High School with the class of 1956. She then married Alfred G. Adams Sr. on June 14, 1958 in Galesburg, Illinois.
Greta enjoyed watching NASCAR races on television and cheering for Kyle Busch. She also enjoyed various arts and crafts. Greta was a member of the First Christian Church in Knoxville, Illinois. She was previously employed by the Good Samaritan Nursing Home and Maytag where she worked for 21 years.
She is survived by her husband; Alfred G. Adams Sr. of Knoxville, Illinois, son; Alfred G. (and Tricia) Adams Jr. of Knoxville, Illinois, daughter; Pamela Loomis of Knoxville, Illinois, three grandchildren; Bradley Loomis of Columbus, Ohio, Destini Linderman of Centre, Missouri, Emily Adams of Knoxville, Illinois, two brothers; Thomas L. (and Pat) Wunderlich of Galesburg, Illinois, Jack R. Wunderlich of Galesburg, Illinois, two sisters; Carol A. (Thomas) Smith of Oxford, Mississippi and Susan K. Wunderlich of Galesburg, Illinois.
Greta was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Leona, and her brother, Joseph Wunderlich Jr. A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. David Shreeves will be officiating the service. Memorial donations may be left to the First Christian Church of Knoxville or to the Knoxville Community Food Bank.
