Norma Sánchez, age 61, was a lifelong resident of Rodarte, NM, passed away into the hands of the Lord on March 23, 2018 surrounded by her family.
Norma was born on September 19, 1956 to Rodolfo and Belén Sánchez.
Norma was preceded in death by her mother, Belén Sánchez, mother-in-law, Simonita Vigil, brother Manuel Sánchez and sister, Joyce Sánchez, grandparents, Apolonio and Agripianita Sánchez and Manuel and Fidelia Casaus and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norma is survived by her companion of 18 years, Daniel Vigil, daughter, Desiree López and her husband, Mark, grandchildren, Demarcus and Dario López, father, Rodolfo Sánchez, siblings, Josephine Gonzáles (Liberato), Jerry Sánchez (Mary), Charlie Sánchez (Becky), Connie Chacón and her companion, George DeHerrera, Julie Valdéz (Steve), Jesse Sánchez and his companion, Pita Trujillo, Gilbert Sánchez, Lorraine Vásquez (George) and Carol Sánchez and God-son, Gerrick Jr. Romero.
Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Norma lived for her family, her pride and joy were her daughter and grandchildren. They meant the world to her. Norma was blessed to have a companion like Daniel, they were inseparable, even when she was in the hospital he never left her side. Norma was an empathetic, kind, generous, loving, giving and beautiful person inside and out. Despite the pain and suffering she endured all these years, she always had a positive outlook on life.
Norma gave whole heartedly and unconditionally to those she knew and loved. Norma always was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Norma was a high spirited, open and honest person. If you wanted to hear the truth, she was the person to go to. Norma was a very special person and had a contagious smile, she will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Parish in Peñasco. Burial will be held immediately following mass at Morada de Llano de San Juan Cemetery in Llano, NM.
