Kingsport – Ida Lee Brown, 89 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 28, 2020 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Sneedville she had lived in Kingsport for most of her life. One of Ida's greatest enjoyments was when she worked in the China department at Proffit's/Belk's for 35 years where she had many friends. Ida was a charter member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fate "Doc" Brown; daughter, Connie Daniels; son-in-law, Tony Daniels and her granddaughter, Kimberly Daniels; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Ida is survived by her daughter, Sharon Brown; sons, William "Bill" Brown and Mark "Chip" Brown and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Beth Skinner (John), Paul Daniels (Will) Danielle Throp (Walker) and Whitney Mayeaux (Scott); 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Light (Ron); several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 3 pm Wednesday at Highland Cemetery in Rogersville.
Due to Covid-19, the family request that all attendees for both visitation and graveside service please wear mask.
