Becky was known to many in the Galena-Riverton-Baxter Springs area from her many years serving the community as a cashier at area grocery stores. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Harper's Refrigeration in Riverton.
She was the oldest of four siblings born January 29, 1936 to Woodrow G. Mitchell and Catherine (Webb) Mitchell (both deceased) in rural Newton County.
She is survived by a brother, Phillip Mitchell of Springfield, MO and a sister, Wanda Lou Soares of Mililani Town, HI. Her young brother Sam Mitchell preceded her in passing. She was mother to four sons, James Alan Coulson, Kenneth L. Coulson (deceased), Douglas W. Coulson (deceased), and Patrick S. Foreman of Joplin, MO. She was widowed three times. She was a grandmother to Jennifer, Derek, Melissa, and Amber as well as a great-grandmother to their children.
Becky enjoyed attending church and was a member of First Baptist Church of Galena. She enjoyed taking care of her plants and flowers and loved animals, especially dogs. In lieu of flowers, Becky's family request donations are made in her memory to the Joplin Humane Society at 104 E. Emperor Lane, Joplin, MO 64801.
Final arrangements are under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Homes of Galena, Kansas and interment will be at Quaker Valley Cemetery.
