James D. Madden Sr., 77, of McElhattan passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020.

Born March 2, 1943 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Emily and James Madden. Jim was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and Lock Haven University.

He was married to the (late) Barbara Yoho for over 30 years. They had three children, James D. Madden Jr., Margorie (Charles) Boots and a deceased daughter Julie (David) Garlick.

Jim was the little brother to three older sisters; Joan Schilling of Virgina Beach, Va..; Doris Brubaker of Punxsutawney, Pa., both deceased, and one living sister, Nancy Barton of Dunnstown, Pa. He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Later in life, Jim was lucky enough to find love a second time and was married to Kathryn Miller-Eichenlaub to whom survives. They met the winter of 1998 and were married on April 27, 2001.

Jim inherited three more stepchildren; James E. Brown II (deceased), Kristine (Donald) Meeker, and Kevin (Kristy) Eichenlaub. Together they have several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jim worked as a geography teacher in western PA for 20 years. After retiring from teaching, Jim returned to Lock Haven and worked for Oak Grove Housing in Avis and then transferred to Clinton County Housing.

Kay and Jim enjoyed traveling early in their marriage, cruising to Panama Canal, Caribbean Islands and Alaska. They acquired a home in Haines City, Fla., and spent most of the winter months there for 10 years enjoying the warm weather.

In Jim's early years he was a fisherman and loved to hunt.

He attended the Mt. Pleasant Bible Church in Loganton.

The family will have a private memorial service in the fall.
