He was a retired coal miner from Westmoreland Coal with 23 years of service. He attended Jarrell Valley Baptist Church and was a member of UMW.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi Ruth Boggs of Madison; one daughter, Vonda J. Asbury of Six Mile; two sons, Ricky W. Boggs of Danville, David J. Boggs of Madison; one sister, Betty Dickinson of Robinson; five brothers, Orville Boggs of Buffalo, Ohio, Arnold Boggs of Florida, Leon Boggs of Wharton, Leo Boggs of Madison, Billy Browning of Robinson; and five grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with Pastor Ronnie Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Family Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call two hours prior to service at the funeral home.
