Robert Alvin "RA" Kelly of Dothan died Monday, September 10, 2007 at Flowers Hospital after a brief illness. He was 74.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. John Hicks officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mr. Kelly was born March 22, 1933 in Fadette to the late Annie and Claude Kelly. He served in the US Air Force for four years. He retired from Dyncorp in Ft. Rucker after 31 years of service.
Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Ruth Crawford, Sarah Welch and Thelma Arnold.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Maxine Kelly of Dothan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Anna Kelly of Dothan, Frank and Nikki Kelly of Ashford; a grandson, Brandon Kelly of McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey; two sisters, Eloise McNeil of Slocomb and Marie Tolbert of Wicksburg; two brothers, Wilburn Kelly of Pensacola, Florida and John Paul Kelly and his wife, Geraldine, of Slocomb; several nieces and nephews.
