Ruby Kathleen Stephens was born on the 23rd of November 1921 in Blount County, Alabama. Preceded in death by her husband, Milford Miles Dean and parents John Fayette "Fate" Stephens and Nina Grigsby Stephens. She married Milford Miles Dean on the 14th of August 1940 and they were the parents of two children, Peggy Ann and Michael Jerome.
Ruby was born the second of five children, with only one brother, Myrtis Eugene "Gene" Stephens and three sisters, Bell Pauline Stephens Box (deceased), Opal Azilee Stephens Morrow (deceased) and Shirley Ann Stephens Galbreath York (deceased).
She was blessed with five grandchildren, Michelle Finch Farish (1965-2013), Rhonda Finch Meadows, Christopher D. Finch, Lauren Dean Faulkner and Stephen Michael Dean. Eight great grandchildren: Harper Jo Faulkner, Dean Eivinn Finch, Hunter C. Finch, Courtney Meadows, Morgan Meadows, Victoria Farish, Davie Farish and Nikki Farish Matienzo.
She enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful roses and flowers making her the recipient of the yard beautification award in Oneonta City. Also a very skilled hand at making lovely quilts.
Conducting her praise service were grandsons, Stephen Dean and Christopher Finch,
nephew Roger Gene Stephens, singing was grandson-in-law Alex Faulkner. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church and the oldest member at the time of her death. Her beloved pastor, Rev. Bill Barnett was hospitalized at the time and subsequently passed away on October 17, 2020 due to
Covid 19.
