OBITUARY

Carole Edna Spencer
JANUARY 29, 1938 – AUGUST 25, 2020

Obituary of Carole Edna Spencer
Carole Edna "Nanny" Spencer, age 39 and "holding", of Brownwood, Texas went on to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 25, 2020.

Nanny was born on January 29, 1938, in Fredericksburg, Texas and resided in Brownwood, Texas for the past 49 years. She married Robert "Pappy" Spencer on April 10, 1955. She was known as Sister Spencer, Sister Edna, Carole, or to most as simply, Nanny. She was a shopaholic to the core but wouldn't openly confess. She liked her daily morning coffee pippin' hot, black, and decaf. She enjoyed her adventures to Sonic for a diet-cherry-limeade, and any excuse to sneak away for Dairy Queen's Happy Hour. Getting to share this with family and friends was just another reason to go. She had a weakness for Kit-Kat's, chocolate covered cherries, and diet caffeine free coke. She loved to cook for family, made a mean pecan pie, and was a lemon meringue pie master. She was a great listener and confidant. Nanny led a life grounded in her love for Jesus and her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength. She taught us forgiveness, and she taught us unconditional love. No matter what, you could always call and count on Nanny. She wanted nothing but the best for each of us. She was our cheerleader, and we were better because of her. She made us better. She reminds us that, "A heart that's broke is a heart that's been loved."

Carole Edna is survived by children, Carole Hood, and husband, Michael, of Keller, Texas, Lisa Powers, and husband, Jonathan, of Denton, Texas and Glenn Harris Spencer, Jr., and wife Gris Spencer, of Austin, Texas; countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Your laughter and love will be missed, but we know you're home and happy with Pappy once more.
