Mrs. Rebecca Coffelt Guffey age 73, passed away late Monday October 5, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga with her family at her bedside. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on April 26, 1942 to Ervin and Agnes Roberts Coffelt who preceded her in death along with her son, Keith Guffey; sisters, Annetta Scott and Betty Coffelt.
She was a member of the Palmer Baptist Church and a devoted Christian mother who always had an open home to all the family, friends and neighborhood children who she loved very much.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Carl Guffey; daughters, Tonya Kilgore, Venessa (Dean) Cleek; son, James "Rooster" (Kristie) Guffey; daughter-in-law, Amy Guffey; brothers, John Henry (Dorcas) Coffelt, Tom (Carrie) Coffelt and Bill (Renee) Coffelt; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jason Rymer and Bro. Tyler McCullough officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
