Asahel Purnal Tracy was born October 9,1819 the son of Solomon & Susanah Lucky Moore Tracy in Lewis, Kentucky. His brother & sisters were: Susanah Tracy Andrews, Mary Tracy, Jefferson Tracy, Samantha Tracy Miller & Manerva Tracy.
Asahel married first Sarah Elizabeth Ellington May 27,1855. Their children were: Solomon Henry Isaac Tracy & James Benjamin Franklin Tracy.
He served a short term in the service but was disabled.
Asahel marries Sarah's sister(after her death) Minta Miranda Ellington Tracy on February 11,1866 in Shelby County. Their children were: Miranda June Tracy Shaw, Christopher Ransom Tracy, Joshua Solomon Tracy, Charles Wesley Tracy, Sally Carol Tracy Cherry, Nancy"Nannie" Viola Tracy Wicker, Emma Elizabell Tracy linville, Elnora Tracy Steffey.
Ashael died August 22,1909 in Shelby County, Indiana.
He was a member of the Fountaintown Christian Church. He is buried in the Fountaintown Cemetery.
