Also surviving are his three children, David (Kathleen) Coburn of Smyrna, DE, Douglas (Kimberly) Coburn of Urbana, and Diana Coburn of Peoria; six grandchildren, Darrell, Christian, Amanda (David), Matthew, Kyle, and Jordan; and one great-grandson, Mason; his siblings, Marilyn (Robert) Gossmeyer and Robert (Michelle) Coburn; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Gary had a love for nature, fishing, and vacationing with family. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed traveling and going to races. He retired from Logan Printing Company in 2004 after 41 years of loyal service.
Gary will be remembered as being a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first. He was a kindhearted, gentle man with an amazing sense of humor. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Transitions Hospice and all those who helped and supported Gary throughout his long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Arrangements are being made by Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Due to Covid-19 there will be no visitation. Gary's graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Chaplain Trevor Bartolomucci will officiate.
