Burial at the church cemetery. Minister Dennis Smith of Forest Christian Church officiated. Phillips & Luckey in charge of arrangements.

She was BORN 3/12/1919 in Hicks Comm. of Milam Co. to George W. (died 12/13/1957) & Sarah Frances Nickels (died 7/21/1986). She married on 11/9/1935 to Clarence E. Alford (died 6/18/1986) at First Christian Church in Rockdale. She was employed by Texas Instruments for 16 years retiring in 1984. She was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church and a former member of First Baptist Church of Sugarland. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, and sewing. Also preceding her in death were an infant brother, Oliver and infant sister, Sis, and sister, Florence Ann Criddle.

SURVIVORS: 3 sons, Clarence Wayne of Bremond, George of Guy, Curtis of Bremond; 4 daughters, Faye Blackmon of Yuma, AZ., Rita Oliver of New Cancy, Rose Shelton of El Campo, Twila Gibson of Fresno, TX.; 2 brothers, George (Buck) Nickels of Rockdale, James (Dunk) Nickels of Big Lake; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren.
