Linda Guerry Ortiz, 73, of Cross, died Friday morning in a local hospital.
Her memorial service will be 11:00 AM Thursday morning, September 3, 2020, in the chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the hour of service.
Mrs. Ortiz was born June 25, 1947, in Olanta, SC, a daughter of Paul Davis Coker and Maude Thornhill Phillips. She was a former food truck caterer and a former waitress at The Dock Restaurant. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Ortiz enjoyed playing billiards and square dancing. She also enjoyed sewing, as well as tending to her flowers and doing yard work. Mrs. Ortiz was quite a talker and will be remembered for her love of her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Mrs. Ortiz was predeceased by a brother, Al Coker, and his wife, Maureen "Mo" Coker and her stepfather Earl J. Phillips.
Surviving are her husband, William "Willie" Ortiz; two sons, Paul Guerry, of Cross, and Michael Guerry, of Bonneau; a sister, Cathy Sprinkle and her husband, Doug, of Marion, NC; a brother, Keith Coker and his wife, Linda, of Cross; four grandchildren, Lindsey Guerry, Lacey Patton, Jordan Guerry, and Michaela Guerry; and one great-grandchild, Lyla Patton.
