DR. K. C. WOLD, ST. PAUL AUTHOR, PHYSICIAN, DIES
Dr. Karl C. Wold, 61, St. Paul physician and author of the controversial book entitled "Mr. President How Is Your Health?" died Wednesday at Princeton, N. J. Dr. Wold died of a heart attack while visiting a daughter, Mrs. Robert Johnson. He gained national recognition in 1919 when his book was published. In the book, he wrote that the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt suffered four strokes before he died. This statement touched off a storm of denials from memoirs of the Roosevelt family, but Dr. Wold stuck to his story. Dr. Wold, born in St. Paul, was graduated from the University of Minnesota medical school in 1914 and served as an army doctor in World War I. He was an eye specialist until his death in St. Paul. He lived at Dellwood, White Bear Lake. He was a member of the American Medical association, Minnesota and Ramsey County Medical societies and the American College of Surgeons. Besides the daughter he was visiting, he is survived by his wife, Mabel; two sons, Dr. Keith, St. Paul, and Sidney, Grand Forks, N. D.; a daughter, Mrs. Jack Strong, Austin, Minn.; a brother, the Rev. Norman Wold, Stillwater, and a sister, Mrs. Carl Johnson, St! Paul, and nine grandchildren. His body is being returned to St. Paul for burial. Arrangements have not been completed.
