ROBERT MALLARD KEY

Robert Mallard Key who was affectionately known as "Bobby", was a son of the late Henry and Lillie Key. He was the youngest of two sons. Bobby confessed his faith in Christ in his early twenties. He attended Boston Technical High School and graduated in 1967. His gift in mathematics was nurtured and became prominent in High School. He attended the University of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he majored in advanced Mathematics. One of the things Bobby got great enjoyment and a sense of accomplishment from, was to find computational mistakes in Math textbooks. He would write the publisher and would take great pride when they responded to inform him that he was correct.

Bobby had a strong work ethic and retired from Massachusetts General Hospital after working there in various capacities for approximately 30 years. After retirement he continued to work at the Veterans Hospital and Northeastern for 15 more years. Bobbie had a strong love and dedication for family. He was a deep thinker and had an uncanny ability to remember dates. He would always make an effort to call his family on Birthdays and special occasions.

In the last years of Bobby's life, he battled some health issues. He was assisted and lovingly cared for by his older brother Henry. Bobby fought a good fight and died on August 19, 2020 shortly after his Seventy Second Birthday. He is survived by His Brother Henry Key, Jr. (wife Marcia), His niece and nephew His aunts, His uncle, cousins, his partner and close friend of 30+ years Francette.
