William “ Bill “ Skinner Jr., 65, of Beaumont, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020. Bill was born October 8, 1954 in Jasper, Texas, to Durwood Skinner and Thelma Donese Skinner-Jones and was one of 4 children. Growing up in Kirbyvile, Bill would meet the love of his life, Sue Wellman, while in high school and would spend the next 46 years building a beautiful life, marriage, and family with her. Bill and Sue were blessed with two sons who would follow Bill’s strong example of character and service as they grew up. Bill was truly a man with a servant’s heart, constantly finding purpose in helping others and serving his church. Always doing something for someone else, Bill served many years as a deacon at North End Baptist Church, being an RA Leader, Sunday School teacher, youth volunteer, and working with multiple ministries over the years. His devotion to his community, his faith, and his family were at the core of what made Bill so special to all who knew him, he truly impacted so many lives. Bill served as a Christian Crisis Intervention board member for 10 years and was a devoted YMBL member. He was passionate about Operation Christmas Child where he was a ministry coordinator for many years, and also spent many years working with “ Some Other Place “ . The void left by such a servant will not be easily filled, but his legacy of love and service will live on in those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish Bill’s memory is his beloved wife of more than 45 years, Sue Skinner of Beaumont; his two sons, Adam Skinner and wife Jennifer of Huffman, and Aaron Skinner of Beaumont; his brother, Paul “ Mike “ Skinner and wife Cindy of Sour Lake; his sister, Sheryl Bolton and husband Jeff of Kirbyville; his grandsons, Grayson Skinner and Maverick Skinner ; and a host of friends, loved ones and church family members.

Preceding Bill in death are his parents, William Durwood Skinner Sr. and Thelma Donese Moore Skinner Jones; and his sister, Brenda Sharon Skinner.
