Michelle Rene "Shelly" Mills, 34 of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, July 25, 1994. She was born on September 11, 1959 in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Jackson) Leeper. A Valparaiso resident for 8 years, formerly of Portage, she married James G. Mills on August 2, 1986 in Portage. Mrs. Mills was a 1978 graduate of Portage High School and was the director of Busy Bee Day
Care Center and a supervisor for Sand Creek Country Club. She was a member of Portage Christian Church and she enjoyed her hobbies of painting, drawing, crocheting and sports. She is survived by husband, James G. Mills of
Valparaiso; two sons, Cory Wayne and Kevin Alan Mills, both of Valparaiso; maternal grandmother, Edna Leeper of Portage; paternal grandfather A.L. Jackson of Walkerton; three sisters, Nina Riggens of Valparaiso, Tammy (Mark) Belancin of Portage, Linda (Dan) Nagel of Orland Park, Illinois; one step sister, Theresa Beard of Chesterton; one step-brother, Brian Riggenns of Chesterton; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Barbara Mills.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 27, 1994, at 8 P.M. at Engel Funeral Home, 2700 Willow Creek Road, Portage, Indiana, with Mike Kirk of the Portage Christian Church officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, July 27,
1994 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 8 p.m. There will be a committal service at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso on Thursday, July 28, 1994 at 11 a.m. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 11 a.m. Engel Funeral Home, Portage, in charge of arrangements. For information please call 219-762-8595.
