Edith J. Sherman of Sarasota passed away at home on November 4, 2019. She was 89. Edith was born June 4, 1930 in Lock Haven, PA to the late Oscar and Kathryn (Killinger) Hockenberry. In Heaven, "Sis" was surely welcomed by her parents, her daughter Debbie, her son Bobby, and nine brothers and sisters. Surviving are her son Mr. Arthur Murty Jr of California, two daughters Mrs. Sherry Vance of Pennsylvania and Ms. Lisa Sherman of Florida, her brother Mr. Robert (and sister in law Donna) Hockenberry of Pennsylvania, her sister in law Mrs. Don (Grace) Hockenberry of Pennsylvania, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A life-long Penn State fan, Edith will most assuredly search Heaven for a hug from Coach Joe. Her daughters and granddaughters would like her to know she was right. They don't know what they'll do without her.
