Nelda Darlene Olson Franklin, 78, of Tyler, Texas, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Hospice of East Texas. She was born November 25, 1941, in Tyler, TX to Coy Doyle and Mary Lucille Olson. She worked at American Clay, Inc. and then went on to run an in-home daycare watching most of her grandchildren up until her late retirement. She enjoyed camping, garage selling, cross word puzzles, cooking and playing dominoes. However, what she loved the most was spending time with family, grandkids and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse David Franklin, and son Jerry Doyle McKelvey.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Terry McKelvey, Gary McKelvey, Nelda and Kenny McFaddin, Linda and Jeremy Dotson, Barry and Nikki McKelvey and Danny Franklin all of Tyler, Sherry and James Chamblee of Murchison, Brenda and Randell Simpson and Calvin and Sherry Franklin all of Ben Wheeler; brother Coy Olson and wife Sue, of Tyler; 16 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dillan McKelvey, Kirby McFaddin, Kennith McFaddin, Cody McDow, Jesse McKelvey, and Chance Olson.
Graveside service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Williams Cemetery, Tyler, with Bro Kevin Basham officiating.
