On August 26, 2020, Barbara Nell Scoggins passed away peacefully at the age of 81 in Fort Worth, TX at the Community Hospice Inpatient Facility after a brief illness.
She was born in Bogata, Texas on November 17th 1938 to the late Gilbert Lebon Howell & Flossie Pearce Howell. She was the eldest daughter of four brothers and two sisters. In 1955 she married Harley Scoggins and became a stay at home mom up until 1977.
She and her family traveled the world, living in Queretaro-Mexico, Istanbul-Turkey and London- England in the 1960s. After returning to the United States, her family settled in Fort Worth, Texas and the surrounding area. She worked at Portner Warner Industries, a supplier of Foundry supplies and equipment, for 30 years and retired in 2008. She loved her work and enjoyed being a part of the Foundry Industry.
Barbara loved gardening and created beautiful landscapes and lush flowerbeds. She'd spend hours mowing, planting, pruning and pulling weeds in her flower beds to make them look divine. It was a hobby she enjoyed all of her life and she received several yard of the month awards and recognitions.
She is survived by her daughter's Barbara Darlene Crites of Pottsboro, TX, Sherry Ann Norton of Fort Worth, TX, Cynthia Gail Scoggins of Fort Worth, TX, and her son Harley Mac Scoggins of Hurst, TX, 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, her brothers, Carlos Howell, Donald Howell, and Keith Howell, and her sister Delilah Murray.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, brother Wayne Howell, sister Carol Howell McFarland, and by her beloved and precious dogs; Cody, BOBO and Princess.
She will be greatly missed by all!
