Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2020, in Eatonton, Georgia.

Evelyn "Denise" Walker entered this life on Thursday, October 5, 1950. She was born to the late Willie and Betty Walker in Cleveland, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents Willie Walker and Betty Blount and siblings: Michael Walker, Diane Walker, Denise Walker and Derek Walker.

Denise received Christ at an early age and was a member of Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church in Detroit, Michigan. Under Lutheran teaching, she excelled in her scholastic pursuits. Denise was later educated in the Detroit Public School System and attended Wayne State University.

On May 22, 1971, Denise married her first love Gary Williams in Cleveland, OH. One child was born to that union. She was a devoted mother of six, grandmother of 15 and great- grandmother to six beautiful children. She loved her family dearly and beamed with pride when she shared photos, videos and happy memories.

In 1990, Denise migrated her family from Detroit, Michigan to Eatonton, GA to be closer to her beloved Georgia family.

She became a member of Abundant Life Church (non-denominational) under Pastor Utucks and later joined New Life Worship Center in Warner Robins under Dr. Jerry Wheeler.

Denise's work life captured her passion for working in the community. She served as a social worker at Operation Get Down in Detroit where she loved helping others. Being an advocate for voter's rights, Denise was a faithful worker at the Putnam County Voter's registration. She also worked for Denon Digital (Eatonton) and the Detroit Water & Sewage company.

Denise was an extremely talented cook. She was known for making the most delicious and creative food on this side of the equator. She absolutely loved seeing family, friends and everyone enjoying food that she prepared. If she ever prepared a meal for you, you were sure to never forget it. Her span of cooking reached the campaign trails of Bill Clinton to thousands.

Denise fought a good fight, but our heavenly Father had a higher calling for her. On Wednesday, May 6, God called her home.
