SANFORD-Larry A. Allard, Jr., 53, of Sanford, died tragically early Wednesday morning, Aug. 26, 2020 as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born on Apr. 1, 1967, in Biddeford, the only son of, Larry A. and Samantha (Foran) Allard, Sr. He attended Biddeford Schools.
Larry worked in various places as a young man. For the last 13 years he has been a beloved member of the facilities maintenance team at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough.
He was passionate about the outdoors enjoying every opportunity he had to hunt and fish. He only had one child, his daughter, Morgan. From a very young age he started teaching her his skills riding a motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and giving her a love of the outdoors the same as his. A notable accomplishment was his Maine State record turkey he harvested in 2019.
Larry had a soft spot in his heart for the many pets he had over the years especially numerous St. Bernards and currently a rabbit named “Winnie.”
He enjoyed the company of family, friends, his co-workers, the residents of the Vets Home and the fellowship of the Men’s Group of the Maine Life Gate Church.
Larry is loved by a daughter, Morgan Gregoire of Sebago; three sisters, Lori Littlefield and her husband, Dana of Waterboro, Jodi Allard of Arundel, and Sherri Baud of Limerick; special uncle “brother,” Paul Foran of Biddeford; many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. He was predeceased by his parents.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at some point in the near future after careful consideration on a location. Please consider a gift in Larry’s memory to the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals (Windham horse rescue). Cremation arrangements are in the care of the Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Road in Casco. Please share your kind words, condolences and hunting stories at www.hallfuneralhome.net.
