Jack Allen, 97, U S Navy Veteran, of DeSoto, TX passed away on August 22, 2020.


Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his wife: Muriel L. Allen in 2014 and sister in law: Phyllis H. Sams in 2017.


He is survived by his daughter: Jacqueline Allen; niece: Candice & husband Chad McCurdy; great nephew: Aiden McCurdy; great niece: Avery McCurdy; niece: Kate & husband Don Clark; niece: Kara & husband Rance Knisley; niece: Linda & husband Andy Tucker; brother in law: William "Bill" Sams and a host of other nieces & nephews.


The family will receive friends at the West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Wednesday - August 26, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday - August 27, 2020 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 265 W. Pleasant Run Rd., Cedar Hill, TX 75104 with Dr. Mike Simmons, Dr. Bill White and Mr. Lloyd Williams, officiating.


Burial, with Military Honors, will be held in the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX on Monday - August 31, 2020 at 1:30 P.M.


ALL SERVICES TO FOLLOW COVID-19 GUIDELINES.


A special thanks go out to Dr. Thomas Dalton, Dr. Tim Issac and their staff for the love and incredible care provided throughout the years.


Those serving as pallbearers will be Steve Davidson, Tom Vick, Roby Bass, Kenneth Sewell, Eric Craddock and Mead Sams.


The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials or donations be made in Mr. Allen's name to either the Special Needs Ministry or the Building Fund for Hillcrest Baptist Church.
