Funeral services for Mr. Jerry "JJ" Daniel, of Rentz, will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at 3 PM, at the Dublin High School Auditorium, 1127 Hillcrest Parkway in Dublin. Bishop Harrison Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in the White Family Cemetery.
Mr. Daniel, who passed on February 29, 2016, was born on August 20, 1945, in Laurens County to the late Ralph and Nunie Bell Isaac Daniel. He was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church and was a 1964 graduate of Mary Fleming High School. He worked at Chrysler Corporation in Detroit for many years. After he relocated to Dublin in 1976, he was owner and operator of "JJ's Night Club." He also worked at Coca-Cola and Anderson Construction.
Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Burch Daniel; beloved granddaughter, Venezuela Alexis Coleman; his parents, Ralph and Nunie Bell Daniel; sister and brother-in-law, Gloria Jean Daniel Hughes and Rollin Hughes; a nephew, Christopher Tyrone Daniel.
He leaves to cherish his memories seven children including four daughters, Tina Watkins of Macon, Pamela Daniel of Rentz, Angel (Dexter) McSwain of Hampton, and Thesalonica Jones of Dublin and three sons, Dr. Jerry B. (Barbara) Daniel, Esq., and Terry Daniel both of Rentz, Dr. Gary (Alejandra) Daniel of Macon, fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three sisters, Chathaleen Traylor of Dublin, Eunice Diann (Tyre) Chapman of Atlanta and Gwendolyn (Dr. Addis) Moore of Kalamazoo, Michigan; nine brothers, Ralph, Robert Earl (Elaine), Marvin and Melvin Daniel and Frank Coney, all of Dublin, Larry and Rastous (Edith) Daniel) of Rentz, Randal (Gerronica) of Riverdale and Ronnie Daniel of Ellenwood; two aunts, Dorothy Mincey of Rentz, Rebecca Lee of Dublin; special cousin, Dorothy Cross; special neighbors, Walter Butts, Jr. and Danny Williams, and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive visitors at 1393 David Mullis Road, Rentz, and on Saturday, March 5, 4-6 PM at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 1601 South Poplar Springs Church Road, Dublin.
