She was born on January 18, 1929, in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of Amos and Mary {Lawson} Lawless. She was married to Frank Bennett until his passing in 1999.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Carrigan of Grape Creek, Norman (Dan) Carrigan of Georgetown, and Keith Carrigan of Westville; her daughters, Gloria (Jim) Hawkins of Oakwood and Denise Brasker of Westville; her 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Virginia was a member of the Community Church of God in Danville. She visited Haiti many times on mission trips. She was well-known for her baked pies at Church. She also belonged to the Danville Garden Club. Virginia is best known for her love of cooking large dinners for her family. Her legacy will live through her family's memories.
She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Georgetown.
