Michael R. Mays, 72, of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020.

He was born on February 14, 1948 in Frankfort, Kentucky to Clifford and Ann (Long) Mays. Mike was a 1966 graduate of Frankfort High School. He served in the US Navy from 1967-1970 on the USS Kittyhawk. He also served in the Kentucky National Guard. Mike retired from the Department of Highway and Transportation with The State of Kentucky. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan.

Mike is survived by his mother Ann Dean, son Benjamin Mays, sisters Kathy Mays and Tina Klemencic (John), granddaughter Marissa Mays, nieces Telisa Rech, Amy Hollingsworth and nephew Brian Klemencic. He is also survived by his cousins, Donna Bell (Rusty), Judi Turner (Butch), and Sally Long Bell (Bill). He is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Mays.

Graveside services will be private at Camp Nelson Cemetery (6980 Danville Rd, Nicholasville, KY 40356). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association.
