He attended the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Ebenezer High School Class of 1965. After graduation, he joined the United States Army, where he served two terms earning the rank of E-5 and was awarded several citations. After military, he moved to Newark, New Jersey, and later to Kansas City, Missouri, where he retired from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years of dedicated service.
After retiring, he relocated back to his hometown of Sumter. He was raised in a Christian home with humble beginnings. He joined Mechanicsville United Methodist Church at a young age. He loved attending Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Frank Williams Jr., where he visited on several occasions.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Sharron Boone of the home and Carmen Harvest of Kansas City; one sister, Martha Boone Lynn of Newark; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
