Donald Wray Goodwin, 86, of Hendersonville, NC, gained his heavenly wings on August 11,
2020.

Born in February 1934, in Wilson, NC, he was a son of the late William and Mattie Goodwin.

Don was an avid Washington Redskin and Cleveland Indian fan for life. He worked many years as an usher to Daytona racetrack and was a car mechanic for 50 years. He always wore a smile and had a joke ready to tell, which is just one of the many reasons that Don never met a stranger. He would spend 6 months in Hendersonville, NC, and the remaining 6 months in Homosassa Springs, FL. He had many friends in Florida, where he enjoyed street golf and poker night.

Don is survived by two sons, Ric Goodwin, and Wray Goodwin; two stepsons, Rodney Stephens, and Tracy Stephens (Cathy); two daughters, Donna Schultz (Jimmy), and Catherine Schulz (Kurt);
stepdaughter, Rene Hyatt (David); 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Goodwin; his twin brother, Ronald Goodwin; brother, William "Bill" Goodwin; sister, Rebecca Goodwin; and a granddaughter.
