Walter R. “Dick” Conner, age 82, of Mayfield, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015 at his residence.

He was a retired owner of Mayfield Florist, attended Cuba Church of Christ and was a Navy Veteran.

Mr. Conner is survived by his wife: Marge Conner of Mayfield; two sons: Steve (Vicki) Conner and Shane Conner, both of Mayfield; four step-sons: James Roy Copeland II of Metropolis, IL; William Steven Copeland of Mayfield, Don Cato of Red Oak, TX and Todd Cato of Mayfield; two step-daughters: Nancy Wright of SC and Traci Ostland of Billings, MT; one brother: Jerry Conner of Athens AL; two sisters: Rebecca Boyd of Beugart, GA and Linda Butterworth of Montgomery, AL. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Marie Heath Conner; sister: Shirley Wilford; brother, Ralph Conner and his parents: Walter Henry and Gladys Christine Boyd Conner.

Funeral services for will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Byrn Funeral Home of Mayfield with Will McSweeney officiating. Interment will follow at Lebanon Church of Christ Cemetery. Military Graveside Rights will be conducted by American Legion Post #26.

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 pm on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the funeral home.
