Richard D. Christian, Sr., 77 of Rush County, passed away on August 23, 2020 in Rushville. He was born on January 4, 1943 in New Castle, IN to the late Albert Bennie and Florence Edna (Clemons) Christian. Richard married Rose L. (Manser) Christian on April 28, 1967 and she survives. He was a machine operator for copeland for several years and retired in 2005. Richard was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races.
In addition to his wife, Rose, he is also survived by his son, Richard Dale Christian, Jr. of Rushville and daughters, Jeannie Lynn (Kevin) Shook of Rushville and Sally Ann (Doug) Powers of Rush County; sister, Dorothy Wood of AR; grandchildren, Susan Brittany Christian, Kyle Dale (Stephanie) Christian, Brittany Renee Shook, Taylor Nicole Shook, Mason Alan Gordon, and Madison Rose Hankins; and his great-grandson, Exra Christian.
Richard is preceded in death by his three sisters, Patty Christian, Betty Prator, and Barbara Shank; two brothers, Charlie Christian and Albert Christian.
Services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 1 PM in Moster Mortuary, with Pastor John Wall presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 AM until time of service. Burial will be held in Rushville East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made out to Trinity United Presbyterian Church.
