Died of Natural Causes at her residence in Hemet, CA on August 21, 2020.
Born July 14, 1927, in the State of New York, to Charles and Jesse Munson.
She had three brothers, Howard Munson, Stewart Munson, and Don Munson, an older sister
Jeannette Wright and sister Patricia Romaine Maanao.
She attended schools in Jamestown through High School, then the family moved to Vista, CA
where she attended Palomar College.
She met Roy Taylor in Escondido and married in 1949. Roy was a Navy serviceman which
meant they never stayed in one location long. Marilyn loved being a Navy wife and enjoyed the
adventure of these frequent moves. They lived in San Diego, Alameda, Pensacola, Guam,
Memphis, Vista, and finally settled in Escondido. They spent their retirement years in San
Jacinto, and after her husbands death, Marilyn moved to Menifee, then to Hemet.
Three sons were born to them, Paul, James, and Ron.
Marilyn worked at various part-time jobs including her favorite and longest at the Greyhound
Bus Station in Escondido.
Marilyn was active in her church as a youth worker, Sunday School teacher, piano and organ
player, and Awana leader. She traveled when she could visiting Alaska, the Caribbean, and
Hawaii, with additional travels in an RV across most of the US.
She is survived by her brother Don Munson, her sons and extended family including Paul and
Debbie Taylor of Escondido, James and Celeste Taylor of Menifee, Ron and Laurie Taylor of
Escondido, and Bill and Sharon Thompson of Escondido. Grandchildren include Rebecca
Hurbon of Vista, Jen Hernandez of Escondido, Erin Taylor of Escondido, Kim Anaya of Valley
Center, Ann McNiece of Menifee, Carrie Consalvi of Menifee, Brad Wagner of Sacramento,
David Taylor of Texas, and Christian Taylor of Orange County.
Great-grandchildren include Caleb, Rachel, Simri, Alisa, Kylie, Padgett, Peter, Corrigan,
Teadora, John, Jackson, Olivia, and Elijah.
