Mary Ann HENNESSY(1927 - 2018)
HENNESSY, Mary Ann 91, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in Dayton. She was born April 17, 1927 in
Dayton, Ohio to the late, John H. and Bina M. (Hetzel) Meyer. Mary Ann graduated from Julienne High School in 1945
and went to work as the legal secretary for Mr. Alexander at the law firm of Harshman, Young, Colvin and Alexander.
Shortly after the birth of her first son, she became a full-time homemaker. In 1967 she and her husband Paul R.
Hennessy moved to Newark, Ohio where they raised their family. She was a long-time member of St Francis de Sales
Parish of Newark and a long-time member of Moundbuilders Country Club Tuesday golf league and Wednesday bowling
league. She also volunteered at Licking Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed sewing, travel (especially to Germany), and
was especially talented in making arts and crafts. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Paul R.
Hennessy. She is survived by her son Kevin C. (Mary Beth) Hennessy of Cleveland and Tim (Joan) Hennessy of Dayton
and her grandson Christopher Hennessy also of Cleveland. Mass of Christian Burial at St Anthony of Padua at 10:30am
on Tuesday, August 21. Friends and family may visit from 9-10 am at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave
prior to Mass on Tuesday, August 21. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers,
please consider donations to St Francis de Sales in Newark, Ohio or St Anthony of Padua in Dayton
