SHAFER, Rebecca Age 101, of Kettering, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017. She was born in Alliance, OH on January 20, 1916 to the late John & Anna Florea. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Karl F. Shafer and her 6 siblings. Becky is survived by her children, Phil (Nancy) Shafer, Judy (Bill) Rizzo and Jane Brown; grandchildren, Mark (Pascale) Shafer, Julie (Jeff) Snyder, Annie (Steve) Chagachbanian, Syble Brown and Rebecca Brown; several step-grandchildren, Kenneth (Ginny) Craft, Jodie (Steve) Hineman, Wendy (Doug) Wilson and Jeff (Erika) Wilson; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Becky was a phenomenal cook and loved to entertain friends & family. She was very involved in the community over her lifetime. A private memorial service will be held at a later date for the immediate family. The family would like to thank the staff at The Hospice of Dayton & Walnut Creek Nursing Center for their loving care.
