Obituary

October 22, 2005, age 84 years. Beloved husband of 62 years Bernice (nee Thiele). Dear father of Carol Sue Pazik and the late Marjorie Ann Pazik-Herrewig and David E. Herrewig son-in-law. George had many careers, beginning with service in Patton's Third Army in WWII.


Operated an appliance store and kitchen remodeling business before becoming executive director of the Upper Third Street Commercial Association. Helped launch Northtown Planning and Development Council in 1964, served as Executive Vice President. Supported by private donations, it benefited the area surrounding 3rd street and North Avenue. Named to the Milwaukee County Expressway Commission, served 3 years as head. Appointed to Wisconsin Committee of the US Commission on Civil Rights.

Received the B'Nai B'rith Human Relations Award.


As editor and publisher, helped to grow Fishing Facts Magazine into a national voice in sport fishing. Served on board of Governors of National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, elected to Enshrinement there. Memorial service Tuesday, October 25 at 1PM at Wisconsin Memorial Park Family Center, 12875 W. Capitol Dr. Memorials to House of Peace or the charity of your choice, appreciated.
