Laura Loreta Powers age 97 of St. Johns, MI, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at her home.
Laura was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on December 17, 1920, the daughter of Francis H. and Ruby A. (Bolyard) Huss. She married Harold Powers on May 25, 1940 in St. Johns, Michigan. He passed away on September 17, 2005 after sharing 65 years of marriage together. She was a past member of the Lowe United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by son Ronnie Powers of St. Johns, Michigan, daughter Kay Mead of Ovid, MI, daughter Connie Henry of Alma, MI, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and one son: Richard Powers and 11 brothers and sisters.
It was Laura's wishes to be cremated and for there to be no services. There will be a joint burial of spouses as they are reunited in death at Lowe Cemetery beside their oldest son.
