Jamie Kay Porter Richards, cherished wife, beloved mother, adored daughter and sister, was called home to her Father in Heaven, after giving birth to an adorable daughter, Ashlee Kay, on July 20, 1998.
She was born March 19, 1966, to Rena Kay and James Niel Porter. She grew up in Richfield, Utah, loving life and all it had to offer her. She was active in high school, singing, with the Sound Celebration Group, and cheerleading her favorite football team to victory. As a mother she took excellent care of her children, as they traveled across country from Utah to Virginia and back. She studied evenings to complete her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, graduating just last May from Southern Utah State University.
Jamie was active in her church, working with young women and Cub Scouts. She was serving as an instructor in the Relief Society at the time of her death.
Jamie will be greatly missed by her husband, Michael Richards; sons: Casey, Kurt, Jordan, Cory, and her daughter Ashlee Kay; brothers: Niel and Susy, Wayne and Teri, Ryan and Tiffany; her parents, Jim and Rena; and her friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25, 1998, at 1 p.m. in the Richfield 9th LDS Ward Chapel, 159 N. 400 W. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary Friday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, UT.
